Bound to the Sea by Lyra Fawn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Dolphin shifters? How could I not? This short story gave us a brief introduction to the world of the Dolphinae. Their world is surprisingly complex, including a centuries-old conflict between rival pods, politics I hope to delve into further, and shark shifters (the bad guys, of course). Mona catches the eye of a two of the dolphin shifters and discovers she is somehow marked in a way that makes her able to be one of their mates. The trouble is, which one?
I was intrigued enough by the story to want to find out more, even though there were things I did not particularly like – Mona in particular. Many of her decisions were rash and outright stupid. Half the time she seemed to have it together, and then she would turn into one of those girls…you know the ones. The 'I just met you but I think I'm in love and would follow you anywhere, even to my death' sort of girl. But, even with that there was still enough interest for me to want to read on and see where the story goes, and what happens with Mona, Dario, and Lucan.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
