My Thoughts 
Nathan is a warrior, a fighter.  There is nothing soft or gentle about him.  Jordana was raised as a little princess and expects to be treated as such. 

Even though she has already been promised to someone else, someone more fitting of her upbringing, Jordana can't get Nathan out of her head - he is hard, rough edges to her smooth polished shine...but you know what they say about opposites attracting.
