Dare You To by Katie McGarry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I've been looking forward to reading more about Beth since I read Pushing the Limits. Beth has seen a lot in her short life, and it has made her hard and closed off to almost everyone. Getting through that tough exterior isn't easy. When she is pulled from the life she knows, as imperfect as it is, and is sent to live with her uncle, she does everything she can to make sure everyone knows how unhappy she is. Ryan is a jock, the baseball player with the perfect life. He first crosses paths with Beth in a fast food restaurant, and on a dare from his friends he asks her for her number, completely bombing. But crossing paths weeks later, what starts as a dare leads into something much more.
I absolutely love, love, love Beth. She's imperfect and makes mistakes, but all in the name of protecting what is hers. She has this don't-mess-with-me attitude that tends to push away anyone who tries to get close, but there are chinks in her armor and Ryan seems to find them all.
One fabulous book from an author is great, but two in a row is amazing. I hope this series continues. I want to learn more about all the characters involved.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
