Falling Stars (A Surah Stormsong Novel, #2) by H.D. Gordon

Falling Stars (A Surah Stormsong Novel #2)    by

Book Description:

Surah Stormsong’s life has fallen down around her in the past week. Her father is in a coma induced by demon poison, two Highborn Sorceresses have been murdered, and a crazed Sorcerer by the name of Black Heart has made it his mission to take the kingdom for his own. As princess, and next in line to the throne, Surah is his primary target. But he’s not the only one she has to look out for.
Now, Surah is on the run, having just helped Charlie Redmine escape from the castle dungeons. This makes her a traitor in the eyes of many, as Charlie is not only a common man suspected of murder and treason, but also Black Heart’s younger brother.
The stars are crossed against the two lovers, the universe trying to keep them apart. In the end, will the stars align for Surah and Charlie, or will they fall from the heavens, dead and lifeless, like the tears of angels?

Falling Stars (A Surah Stormsong Novel, #2)Falling Stars by H.D. Gordon

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC.

Falling Stars picks up the story where Shooting Stars left off. Boy did it ever start with a bang! H.D. Gordon has a way of drawing you into each story she creates. This one is no exception. I was hooked from the very first page.

Surah and Charlie both have made choices in their past that they are not proud of. The trouble is sometimes those choices come back to bite you. Surah and Charlie are on the run. Charlie is wanted for murder. Surah has helped Charlie, so she is wanted for treason. They will need to trust and depend on each other to make it out alive. Will the past come back to tear them apart?

Surah and Charlie are both strong characters. They have both suffered great loss but they have persevered. I am captivated by the world and its characters the author has created. This is an action packed story full of twists and turns, love and betrayal. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it. My only problem is I want the next book now!

Witnessing a brutal murder at work is only the beginning of Celia's problems. The fact that the victim is a vampire only proves to complicate her life even more. The vampires of New England have always had an undetected existence among humans but with the unprovoked death of one of their own, the lust for revenge has begun. Celia's concerns are magnified when a hunter from Dallas arrives in town. With Jay's sexy smile and rugged ways, Celia finds herself wanting to spend time with him despite being mysteriously linked to the nest that is threatening to become extinct if Jay gets his way. When four bodies are found drained of blood; Jay teams up with a local bunch to take out all the undead which coincidentally, includes her boyfriend Victor. Celia won't stand seeing anything happen to Victor but refuses to hurt Jay as well. Confusion, lust, rage and violence intertwine as worlds collide. Celia will soon discover that her neat little existence is not what it seems as he...
