Undressed by Avery Aster

Undressed (The Manhattanites, #1)Undressed by Avery Aster
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was a fun story with a lot of sexy thrown in. I do not really know anything about the fashion world, but the author does great job of introducing us into it and is seemingly knowledgeable on the subject. This world of elite society, formal balls, palaces, private islands, and sexy princes is well written and colorful.

The characters were great. I really liked Lex's complexity. To the world it appeared she had this cushy, perfect life while in actuality she had fought hard for everything she had…and she was not about to lose it all again. She was spunky and determined. Massimo is a lot of fun as well. He has everything handed to him, except for the one thing he really wants. The chemistry between Massimo and Lex is sexually charged, and watching them try to stay away from each other was interesting.

The one thing that really did not do it for me was the sex scenes. While the scenes overall were incredibly hot, the "dirty talk" seemed forced and did not really fit in with the rest of the story. However, I enjoyed the story overall.

I received a free copy of this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

One Less Warlock by Judith Post

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing. I enjoyed the story and Babet, the main character, and am looking forward to more of her in the future. View all my reviews
