Teaser Tuesday: Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly Meme hosted by
A Daily Rhythm
where you share two “teaser” sentences from your current read.

Find out how you can participate Here!

"You know it's not going to be a fun party when a serial killer answers the door.  Of course, I'd been assuming that anyway.  Crashing a vampire ball to which you've been specifically uninvited pretty much ensures that the evening will suck"

Paperback, pg 341

Title:  Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer #5)
Author:  Karen Chance
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal

Cassandra Palmer recently defeated a god, which you’d think would buy a girl a little time off. But it doesn’t work that way when your new job description is Pythia—the world’s chief clairvoyant. Cassie is busier than ever, trying to learn about her power, preparing for her upcoming coronation, and figuring out her relationship with the enigmatic sexy master vampire, Mircea.

But someone doesn’t want Cassie to become Pythia, and is willing to go to any lengths to make sure the coronation ceremony never happens—including attacking her mother before Cassie is even born.

My Thoughts

This has quickly become on of my favorite series.  Vampires, magic, time travel, a kick ass heroine...these books have it all!

This teaser gives a little glimpse of the fun to be found in these books.  There are always laugh out loud moments when reading this series.

Comments

  1. I started this series a while back, but stopped reading after about book four. No real reason, just didn't grab me enough to keep going. I liked the ones that I did read, though.

Here's my teaser, from Alex Bledsoe's LONG BLACK CURL:

  2. I've never gotten into the vampire thing, but Cassie definitely sounds like an interesting character. Sounds like you're enjoying the book.

  3. I do like a good vampire book! My TT is from a fast-paced vampire book actually. Kantara by Katy Walters. Hunt the Moon is being added to my TBR shelf.

Witnessing a brutal murder at work is only the beginning of Celia's problems. The fact that the victim is a vampire only proves to complicate her life even more. The vampires of New England have always had an undetected existence among humans but with the unprovoked death of one of their own, the lust for revenge has begun. Celia's concerns are magnified when a hunter from Dallas arrives in town. With Jay's sexy smile and rugged ways, Celia finds herself wanting to spend time with him despite being mysteriously linked to the nest that is threatening to become extinct if Jay gets his way. When four bodies are found drained of blood; Jay teams up with a local bunch to take out all the undead which coincidentally, includes her boyfriend Victor. Celia won't stand seeing anything happen to Victor but refuses to hurt Jay as well. Confusion, lust, rage and violence intertwine as worlds collide. Celia will soon discover that her neat little existence is not what it seems as he...
