“It isn't good to hold on too hard to the past. You can't spend your
whole life looking back. Not even when you can't see what lies ahead.
All you can do is keep on keeping on, and try to believe that tomorrow
will be what it should be—even if it isn't what you expected.”

Harry Dresden, Chicago's
only practicing professional wizard, should be happy that business is
pretty good for a change. But now he's getting more than he bargained
for.
A duel with the Red Court of Vampires' champion, who must kill Harry to end the war between vampires and wizards...
Professional hit men using Harry for target practice...
The missing Shroud of Turin...
A handless and headless corpse the Chicago police need identified...
Not to mention the return of Harry's ex-girlfriend Susan, who's still struggling with her semivampiric nature. And who seems to have a new man in her life.
Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. No matter how much you're charging.

My Thoughts
Another favorite series for me! Harry Dresden is one of my all-time favorite characters. He is a down to earth, overall good guy. He is a wizard, practicing openly out in public, and he has a knack for getting himself into trouble, all for the sake of helping others.
While these books would probably not be listed under "romance," there is a side story of a romance between Harry and Susan. In this book, Harry is dealing with Susan's stopping by after some much needed time away for what could very well be a final farewell. I hope not, because I love these two together!

The Harry Dresden series is one I've always meant to read. I'll have to try to make it happen this year. :) Thanks for sharing what 'he' said.

It is awesome :) I'm re-reading this one because it's been so long since I've read it, and then I'm moving on to finish the series.
