Dragon Wish by Judith Leger
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this book!!! I could not put it down! The author was able to grab my attention and did not let it go. She was able to create a story that will take you on a journey from New Orleans to a magical planet whose inhabitants include dragons, wizards, humans and dragonseeds, those humans who have descended from dragons.
Paladin who is dealing with the death of his wife and unborn child makes a wish on a falling star. This wish brings him to Seren who is also dealing with the death of her daughter and the dissolution of her marriage. He saves her from death and brings her to his planet Avaris. This is the beginning of their adventure that will take them on a journey of desire, love, betryal, heartache, sorrow and forgiveness.
I highly recommend this book! It brought me to tears and left me wanting more. I will be looking forward to the next installment from Judith Leger.

ARC supplied by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The first thing that caught my attention was the stunning cover with its vivid graphics. I wanted to find out if the character on the cover is as "bad-ass" as she looks. This story did not disappoint. The author does an excellent job of developing each character through her vivid details. I enjoyed seeing Evy, the main character, go from down on her luck to kick-ass herione who is able to use lightning as a weapon and to transport her through time. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what other adventures await Evy.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received an ARC.
I will admit I love a book that captures my attention from the beginning and keeps me wanting more. Who wouldn't? If you are looking for a book that will whisk you away to a picturesque setting full of romance, mystery and intrigue, than Aire is the book for you.
Princess Annalisia has a secret ability very few people know about. She sometimes has visions. Princess Annalisia's gift may aid in the search for her missing maidservant who was taken by mistake. The whole castle is put on high alert to protect the princess from this unknown enemy. Jovanni has his own secret. He is able to change into a falcon. Jovanni has searched for his sister to no avail. A disguised Princess Annalisia comes to Jovanni offering her help. Together they will use their gifts to hopefully find his sister and to solve the mystery of the abduction.
Princess Annalisia is a strong character. She understands her duty but is still willing to fight for what she wants. Jovanni is honest and brave. He is willing to sacrifice everything for those he loves. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from this author.

Shooting Stars (A Surah Stormsong Novel, #1) by H.D. Gordon
Shooting Stars by H.D. Gordon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What can I say? H.D. Gordon has done it again with Shooting Stars. If you are looking for a book that will captivate your imagination, then this is the book for you. The story and its characters come to life as you read through the vivid details.
Through a brief chance meeting, Princess Surah and Charlie, a commoner, create a magical connection. They were both young and grieving the loss of loved ones. Who knew this connection would play a major role in their lives? Many years have passed since that chance meeting . Charlie is accused of murder, and Surah is assigned to investigate. Will they remember that connection? Is it possible for a commoner and a princess to fall in love?
Surah and Charlie are both strong characters who are dealing with tragedy and loss. Surah has her own opinions of things and is not afraid to stand up for what she believes. Charlie is quiet and honorable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what happens next.

Rosemary Cottage (Hope Beach #2) by Coleen Coble
Rosemary Cottage by Colleen Coble
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I received a ARC copy from NetGalley.
Rosemary Cottage reads like a cross between a Nicholas Spark's novel and a James Patterson's novel. It is a great read full of mystery and intrigue that will keep you guessing until the end. You will not want to put it down.
Amy Lang can't accept her brother Ben's death as an accident. She goes to Hope Beach to look into his death. During this investigation Amy will uncover more than she bargained for. Curtis Ireland is dealing with his own grief from the death of his sister Gina. Together maybe they can come to terms with the deaths of their siblings and prove if their deaths were accidental or not.
Do we really know our love ones? Are we sometimes blinded by that love and refuse to see the things that are right in front of us? These are questions both Amy and Curtis will face. Amy has a loving spirit, always willing to help others. Curtis risks his life everyday as part of the rescue team of the Coast Guard. Both are strong characters. This story grabbed my attention from the very first page and I highly recommend it!

Fire Country (The Country Saga, #1) by David Estes
Fire Country by David Estes
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Fire Country is the first book in The Country Saga which is the sister series to The Dwellers. What a great start!! If you like the dystopian genre, then this is the book for you.
Sienna lives in a very harsh environment where the air she breathes is toxic. It greatly reduces her life span. Her people, the Heaters, have made it law to force women starting at the age of sixteen to have children in the hope of sustaining their people. These women are called Bearers. Sienna will soon be sixteen and is not looking forward to it. She accidently finds out that her father, who is a leader of the Heaters, is hiding secrets that could change their lives. What will Sienna do with this information? Is she strong enough to make a difference?
David Estes does an excellent job creating a story that will capture your attention. It is action packed and full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. Sienna is my favorite character. She starts off as a small awkward girl but learns that she can make a difference. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it!

Ethereal Influence: The Inquisition by Lana Bradstream
Ethereal Influence: The Inquisition by Lana Bradstream
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Ethereal Influence: The Inquisition is a book about faith and the struggles to keep it during trying times. The Inquisition was a horrible time in history where the church, under the guise of doing God's work, tortured and killed people that were accused of witchcraft.
Inquisitor Nikolaus is questioning his faith and his role in the church. He worries that many of the condemned are innocent. Is this truly God's work or the work of man? Lorenz is an angel sent to help Nikolaus and others struggling with their faith turn back to God. Jakob, a fallen angel, is here to turn as many as he can away from God. The battle lines are drawn. Who will be victorious?
The author did a great job with character development. Nikolaus, like many of us, struggles with his faith. Faith is a daily walk, a decision that we make. While I enjoyed this story, at times the details of the Inquisition were too graphic for me. Despite that, I would recommend it.
