The Skeleton in the Closet by Angie Fox

The Skeleton in the Closet (Southern Ghost Hunter, #2)The Skeleton in the Closet by Angie Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was so happy to be back in Verity's world. Angie Fox has a another winner with The Skeleton in the Closet which is the second book in the Southern Ghost Hunter series. If you are looking for a funny, suspense-filled, paranormal romance that you will have a hard time putting down, then this is the book for you.

Verity is still adjusting to her status as social pariah and her new abilities as a Ghost Whisperer. It doesn't help that the Matriarch of the Social Elite, who just happens to be her ex-fiancé's mother, has made it her personal mission to ruin Verity. Fun times! Verity does have her sister, a few friends which include ghosts, a pet skunk and a budding relationship with one hot deputy sheriff, who just happens to be the brother of her ex. What more could a girl ask for...maybe a steady paycheck? Sugarland is preparing for their annual historical celebration which promises to be the biggest social event of the year. They will not let the murder of one of their own put a damper on the festivities. Verity, with the help of her ghost friends, wants to find out who killed her friend. Can she find out who the killer is before they strike again?

Verity has not let her current financial situation get her down. She is one spunky character with a good sense of humor. Frankie is one cantankerous ghost, but he is a big help when it comes to Verity's investigations. What an interesting cast of characters the author has created! It had me at times laughing out loud and other times on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to see what mystery Verity has to solve next. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.
