Southern Spirits by Angie Fox
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Southern Spirits is the first book in Angie Fox's new series Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries. I enjoy her other series Demon Slayer, so I thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad I did.
Verity Long is a little down on her luck. That will happen when you refuse to marry your fiancé, who happens to be from one of the most influential families in your small town. It turns out that a man scorned can be just as vindictive as a woman. The only thing Verity has left from her ex-fiancé is a dusty old vase. Who knew it held ashes? Now, the ghost isn't happy to be trapped, and Verity can see and communicate with the spirit world with the help of said ghost. If Verity's life wasn't interesting enough, her ex-finance's brother, Ellis, needs her help using her new found abilities. Can Verity set her ghost free? Will Verity and Ellis be able to work together despite the family history?
Verity is one tough cookie. Life may get her down, but Verity won't be down long. She has an easy going personality which comes in handy since wherever Verity goes trouble is not far behind. Did I mention she has an interesting pet? Only Verity would have a pet skunk, Lucy. Love her! This was a fun, suspense-filled read that I did not want to put down. I would definitely recommend.
