Elena has been constantly on the run with her father not knowing what they are running from. Elena longs for a normal life, to be a normal teenager attending school with friends. Sometimes what we long for comes at a high price. Is it worth it in the end? Elena's worst nightmare has come true when she sees her dad die trying to protect her from dragons. How can this be real?

Elena is a strong character which is evident by her ability to rise above the tragedies in her life. The author did a great job developing each character and this new world full of dragons. The vivid descriptions paint a wonderful world filled with magic and many unlocked mysteries. I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next adventure.
