Hexed by Michelle Krys
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Indigo Blackwood may look like she has it all, but things change quickly in high school. One minute you are part of the popular crowd as a cheerleader with your star football boyfriend and your best friend the head cheerleader, then one dead body, a party and stolen family Bible changes everything. Now, Indigo will learn what true friendship is all about. A leather clad stranger named Bishop will not only protect Indigo from evil sorcerers she didn't know existed, but help her unlock her newly acquired abilities as a witch. Will Indigo and Bishop be able to stop the sorcerers from destroying all witches?
Hexed is Mean Girls meets Sorcerer's Apprentice or in this case witch's apprentice. It has well-developed characters, a fast-paced plot and witty banter to keep you reading. I enjoyed the chemistry between Indigo and Bishop, and look forward to their further adventures. This is a young adult book, but it can be enjoyed by all ages.
