1. Tell us a little bit about your main characters.
Libby Mayden and Sam Kyote… Libby is a retired gunfighter-turned-sheriff and the daughter of one of the most notorious outlaws in the West. She’s calm, cool and collected—except when it comes to Sam. Sam is a US federal marshal who, after an alien blood transfusion, now has the ability to make people see illusions. Sam’s fun-loving. And he loves Libby.
2. If you could have any superhuman ability, what would you choose and why?
You know, I always thought I’d want to be able to fly. Then I realized it would be cold and I don’t like being cold. I’ve also always wanted to be good with numbers. Does the Human Calculator sound at all impressive?
3. Which do you prefer: hard/paperbacks or ebooks?
No preference. I read them both, but for different purposes. If it’s a reference book, or looks at all like a textbook, then I have to have it in a physical copy, preferable hardcover. It’s like a sickness. My husband wants to know why I can’t have a thing for purses or shoes like other women. They’d be cheaper. And if it’s a favorite author, I’d want a paperback copy because I like to reread. Ebooks are how I discover new authors. If it’s a story I’ll read again, or I’d like to share with a friend, then I’ll invest in a physical copy. Books are meant to be read and enjoyed. I try not to get hung up on the delivery system.
4. What book are you reading now?
I just finished the sixth book in Monique Martin’s Out of Time series, Sands of Time. They’re ebooks that I discovered through BookBub, and this series really grows on you. I have to admit, I wasn’t entirely loving the first book until almost the end, but Elizabeth West and Simon Cross are such a great couple they won me over. Plus, I love the historical settings in each story. The research is good. So is the pacing. I also like the mixing of genres. There’s time travel, mystery, a little paranormal thrown in…not to mention the romance. I recommend them.
