Stories have always been a part of my life, from books to tales passed down from my ancestors that brought history to life. Danger, struggles and the will power to overcome are all found in the rich legacy of my family tree. Inspiration from their lives inspired me to write what I love. Branching out to contemporary suspense has been another dream come true. I hope my stories bring you entertainment and inspiration.

I love history of all times and places. And my second but equal love of suspense fills my books.

Q & A with Author Karen Lopp

Tell us a little bit about your main characters.
Jerah is an undercover policeman who is living with a major regret. He denied the one woman he ever truly loved and believed his rash actions got her killed. Or so he thought. He is dedicated to his job, a workaholic and frustrated with relationships.

Rissa has loved Jerah for many years, but never let him know her death was faked. She is living under the constant threat of assignation by the ruthless cartel she was born into. How can she ever hope to have a normal life, much less bring anyone else into the cartels’ sights?

What was your favorite scene to write?

The hospital scene where Jerah sets out to prove to Rissa he will do anything for her. Including accepting her request that he kill her.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

Chaotic. I make myself get up every thirty minutes and do some physical activity.

How has your environment/upbringing colored your writing?

Probably in all ways. I am who I am and see things the way I do because of my life’s experiences and beliefs.

If you could be any character from your book, who would you be and why?

It would be Jerah, because he takes someone broken and helps heal her.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

Take a long walk or if the weather doesn’t permit, I read.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Italy, I want to see all the beautiful architecture.

What book are you reading now?

Rescued, by Larynn Ford. Thanks!

One Less Warlock by Judith Post

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing. I enjoyed the story and Babet, the main character, and am looking forward to more of her in the future. View all my reviews
