Late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mother decided I was depressed, presumably because I rarely left the house, spent quite a lot of time in bed, read the same book over and over, ate infrequently, and devoted quite a bit of my abundant free time to thinking about death.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. My Thoughts
This is another re-read for me.  I read it a year or two ago but wanted a refresher before I saw the movie.  I love the story, and John Green's writing was incredible in this book.  Hazel and Augustus will capture your hearts, make you laugh, and then make you cry.

    Hi Sheri,

    I think that, along with Elizabeth, I must be one of the last people in the World to read this book, in fact I had never come across it until a couple of weeks ago, when it was featured on another blog. I can't believe that Goodreads has logged nearly 100,000 reviews and ratings for 'The Fault In Our Stars' and it still comes out almost fautless.

    I think I agree with his mother about the depression, although without reading the synopsis, the opening words could have pretty much described your average male teenager anywhere in the world!
