Title:  Blitzkrieg Love

Series:  Night People Book One

Author:  Livia Olteano

Genre:  Erotic Romance

Date of Publication:  June 24, 2013

Publisher:  Crimson Romance
Description:    “Don’t try to be my hero. Don’t care about me. Don’t let go.”

Twenty-two-year-old Beatrice Stevens lives to dance. Two years ago she walked in on the picture of horror: after stabbing her mom 34 times, her father killed himself. She found his corpse still clutching at her mom’s, determined not to let go of her even in death. Now Beatrice freaks out if she’s hugged, loomed over or receives attention from daddy-type guys. Unless she’s dancing—the one thing that feeds her soul and saves her time after time.

Anthony Gowl wants Beatrice from the moment she bumps her adorable nose into his chest. That desire turns into a burning need after he sees her dance. But he’s the overprotective type—he can’t help it, it’s part of him ever since his sister ODed seven years ago. His savior complex makes him the perfect opposite of what Beatrice needs.

But she can’t seem to shake him. He’s both scary and exciting, even when he kneels at her feet. And the closer he gets, the more that toxic waste in her soul threatens to explode.

Warning: Contains scenes and language suitable for adults.

4 out of 5 stars
Smart, fun, and incredibly sexy, Blitzkrieg Love has all the elements of a great story. Told from the point of view of Bea, a young 20-something dancer in a nightclub, Blitzkrieg Love follows her as she is forced to find her inner strength and overcome her fears. Bea is a great lead.
Though far from perfect, she is a young independent woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. She dances because she loves how alive it makes her feel and is not ashamed to stick to her morals and not take it any further, even under pressure. Doug and Anthony are great characters, too, and well written. I really wish that there would have been more of the secondary characters in the story. Tony and Justine, in particular, were kind of glossed over even though they potentially played important roles in the book.
The heat between Bea and Anthony was fabulously sexy. They had an instant spark that sent chills down my spine. Intense is the only word that can describe Anthony, and that is exactly what Bea did not want. The only thing that bothered me about their relationship is I would have loved to have their courting/flirting drawn out more instead of the instantaneous love that took place. This was a relatively short book at around 150 words, so there was plenty of room to expand and draw out the tension between them. As it was, it was not really believable that Bea could go from one extreme of panicking fear to the other of complete trust in such a short time after living with her fears for two long years.
Overall this turned out to be an excellent story that I enjoyed very much.

One Less Warlock by Judith Post

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing. I enjoyed the story and Babet, the main character, and am looking forward to more of her in the future. View all my reviews
