Haley has just celebrated her 18th birthday when William, her father's best friend, a man she's known her own life, finally decides he cannot stay away from her anymore. "Daddy" Williams decides it's time Haley grows up and sheds some of her innocence, and he is going to be the one to show her how.

I love the premise of this story. The young girl (now 18) exploring her sexuality for the first time with someone she knows, someone she is comfortable with. And William is an alpha male if there ever was one. William comes across as a sexy, dominant male who knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it.

But, the whole reason for the low stars from me is because of Haley. She is 18 and admittedly lived a sheltered life, but in this book she acts, in my opinion, like an 8-year-old child. She is incredibly naive, and not in a cute, fun sort of way. The word stupid actually comes to mind. Even girls who have gone to all-girl schools know what sex is and how to do it. And, she was not just naive about the sex…but everything. Her intellect and personality brought the entire story down for me. It would have been cute had it been a role playing act, but it was just how she was written.

This won't stop me from reading more from this author. As I said, I like the premise of the story and it was very well written.

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing. I enjoyed the story and Babet, the main character, and am looking forward to more of her in the future. View all my reviews
