Jannette considers herself to be the happy little housewife. And not because she stands at a whopping 5’2. She loves baking, cleaning, and lighting scented candles all over the house. Creating an inviting and cozy environment is one of her top priorities. But when it comes to cooking, she hands it over to her husband. She wants to make sure people come back to visit.

If she’s not watching her favorite shows on Netflix, then she's inside her magical room—there really isn't a magical room, so just humor her—reading a book. And if she’s not reading a book, she’s attempting to write one. Or finish one, which has been the case for the past few months.

Outside of her domesticated life, Jannette enjoys riding the trails with her Jeep-fanatic husband and their daughter. Camping, hiking through the woods, and fishing at the lake are some of the things how she and her family spend time together. Pizza Hut and Redbox are fan-favorites as well.

So there you have it. Not much to say, but it doesn't take a lot to make this cupcake lover, neat freak, and candle obsessed author happy.

Q &A with Jannette Fuller

Tell us a little bit about your main characters.
Amber Reynolds is seventeen, and on the outside she appears to be a goody goody. To her parents, anyway. But just like everyone else, she has her flaws. Just to name a few, she sometimes lies and sneaks behind her parents’ back to accomplish what she wants to do. Her decisions lately have been impulsive and unwise. Cute boys and solving mysteries tends to make her imprudent.

Who designs the covers for your books and what is that process like for you as an author?
My publisher designed my cover. But I got to pick out the photo and the font. I wanted the cover to portray the theme of the story--the persuasion to get a person to sin and the result when one does. The white spiral coiled around Amber represents spiritual chains of bondage (sin).

Describe your ideal writing spot.
We moved to a new house and the upstairs is spacious yet cozy. It has two rooms, a bathroom, and the perfect place--right at the top of the staircase--to set up a writing space. A small bookshelf, lamps, bean bags, a futon, icicle lights and posters will make this little nook super fantastical.

What is the best advice you have been given?
That’s a great question. I’ve been given lots of great advice over the years. The best piece of advice that’s stuck with me is to embrace who you are, and don’t worry what others think about you. You’ll be happier and life will be better if you let go of striving to be someone you’re not. Living to please others is a burden we shouldn't carry.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Mouseketeer (a performer/member of the Micky Mouse Club), a fashion designer, and a rock star, of course!

Which do you prefer: hard/paperbacks or ebooks?
Paperbacks and hard backs. What I’m about to say is nothing new you’ve heard before. There’s nothing like holding a book in your hands. It’s magical. They have a delightful and distinctive aroma about them, and you get to place all those wonderful bookmarks inside of them too.

If you could have any supernatural power, what would you choose and why?
Healing powers. There’s so many sick and hurting people in the world. Taking away physical and emotional pain would be awesome. So would healing others of sickness and disease.

What book are you reading now?
Outlining Your Novel by K.M. Weiland and My Double Life by Janette Rallison. Which are GREAT reads, by the way.

One Less Warlock by Judith Post

One Less Warlock by Judith Post My rating: 4 of 5 stars I think it's hard in a short story to create a unique setting, characters, etc., and still get some sort of story line in. In One Less Warlock, Judith did an excellent job of molding the story in such a way that we got a taste of a distinct world and character personalities, and a complete story to go with it. In this short story Judith was able to pack in witches, vampires, a sexy Were, succubus, voodoo, murder, and mystery, all in only about 20 pages. Pretty amazing. I enjoyed the story and Babet, the main character, and am looking forward to more of her in the future. View all my reviews
